My two words for 2012

Do you set goals for the new year?

I do tend to write goals, not just for the new year, but in general. I also like to choose a couple of overarching words for my year. In 2010 I chose trust and joy and last year chose purpose and fun (I didn’t write about them last year though!)

This year, I went to Nadine’s Two Words workshop for some guidance in choosing my two words. It was so interesting. I went along with some idea of what my two words might be – containment and connection – but as the afternoon progressed, I realised they didn’t sit quite right. A little too closed, or restrictive or something.

As we explored further, I ended up choosing a couple of words from Nadine’s YogAttitudes deck – and realised they were actually my two words for the year.

What did I choose?

Love

and wisdom

Which definitely encompass, for me, the idea of containment and connection.

We explored what our two words actually meant for us …

Love

  • showing love and care for myself in my thoughts, words and actions
  • prioritising my relationship first
  • being open to new friendships and connections
  • creating an environment of love at home and in my work
  • exploring the different ways I can express my love

Wisdom

  • checking in with myself and trusting that I know what I need
  • nourishing my body with the healthiest food (not skipping meals because I’m busy, or taking short cuts)
  • working in a sustainable way that allows me to maintain my energy levels across the year
  • being ok with what I’m capable of
  • having a sense of perspective

Nadine wrote about her two words here, and Svasti about her two words here.

Such a wonderful, nurturing day and opportunity to tune in and get focused on the qualities I most want to explore in 2012.

What about you, what are your two words for 2012? You can play along with Nadine’s free two words facebook group if you want!

And if you want help integrating your two words, or other goals you have and clearing any blocks, a Kinesiology session is a great way to do that :)

Love is one of those words that we more easily apply to others before we apply it to ourselves. Sounds like you’ve got a wonderful year ahead of you!!
